Flux Deployment Academy cloud technology announcement

Introducing the Flux Deployment Academy

Hello Fluxers, we are back today with a follow-up to the announcement that was made in our Fork AMA about the new Flux Deployment Academy—an educational hub packed with resources for launching deployments on FluxCloud.

Remaining in flux (a constant state of change) demands staying informed. Through the Flux Deployment Academy, we aim to equip developers and builders with precisely that: a comprehensive knowledge base for deploying customizable applications on the Flux network.

Let’s dive in and discuss how this educational initiative, made possible by the Flux Foundation and Flux developer Tim Sulmone, will enhance deployment activity on FluxCloud.

What You’ll Learn

When utilizing the Flux Deployment Academy, users will learn about the Flux network’s architecture and gain an understanding of how our decentralized cloud functions, as well as the varying FluxNode tiers that make it all possible.

Users will learn how multi-component apps communicate using an internal Domain Name System and the best practices for constructing Docker images optimized for Flux.

The academy covers deployment specifications and container formatting for FluxCloud, as well as deployment monitoring, to provide users with a comprehensive view of their app setup and performance.

Understanding what works and what doesn’t for deployment configurations will smooth out troubleshooting as the academy outlines fixes for common issues, such as failed deployments, domain errors, and database connection issues. Lastly, users will learn about the monthly costs associated with hosting and deploying apps on FluxCloud.

Academy Features

The Flux Deployment Academy features:

  • Interactive Tutorials—step-by-step beginner, intermediate, and advanced guides with production-ready copy-paste commands and real-world examples covering every scenario from launching your first deployment, to multi-component applications, to shared databases with auto-replication.
  • Cost-Calculator—accurately calculate and track monthly deployment costs based on CPU, RAM, and application storage requirements for provisioning and setup that perfectly align with your computing needs.
  • Builder Playground—an interactive sandbox and playground interface enabling you to build out your Flux deployment specifications visually without any JSON editing. Enter your application name and component details, such as a Docker image, domain, and storage capacity, and receive an automatically generated cost estimate, along with an importable app specification outline.

The Importance of the Academy

The Flux Deployment Academy is a critical resource for deploying containerized and customizable applications on FluxCloud. Regardless of your level of knowledge, whether you have no technical experience and have never launched an application, or are a seasoned lead developer and have launched many, the Flux Deployment Academy serves everyone.

Use it as a means of setup optimization, cost estimation, or for troubleshooting; the idea is that the academy will fulfill any needs related to deployment uncertainty. The Flux Deployment Academy is robust in its use cases and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to applications launched on FluxCloud.

We can’t wait for you to get started with this comprehensive, educational resource and dive in to have a streamlined and stress-free deployment experience. The future runs on Flux.
