Memory and CPU
Measured with nobody on (Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.61.1.1): about 275 MB of RAM and 5% of a core. What grows is the drivers and the AI traffic they bring: each driver brings up to 50 AI vehicles by default (max_ai_vehicles_player), within a total of 100 (max_vehicles_total). A big convoy with traffic on is what the larger plans are for.
Hardware by plan
| Plan | CPU | RAM | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 Drivers | 1 vCore | 1.5 GB | 8 GB SSD | $3.49/mo |
| 16 Drivers | 1.5 vCores | 2.5 GB | 8 GB SSD | $4.49/mo |
| 32 Drivers | 2 vCores | 4 GB | 10 GB SSD | $4.99/mo |
Disk
The server is about 1.3 GB. Its home folder holds a few kilobytes of config, the packages (tens of kilobytes) and the log.
Ports
A connection port and a query port, 27015 and 27016 by default, which SCS says to forward for both TCP and UDP. They are what lists the convoy in the public browser. The two virtual ports in server_config.sii (100 and 101) are Steam's and are not forwarded. Behind no open port at all, drivers can still find the session by its search ID.
Frequently asked questions
How much RAM does an ETS2 server need?
About 275 MB idle, measured. 1.5 GB is plenty for a convoy of 8 with traffic; bigger convoys want 2.5 to 4 GB.
What ports does an ETS2 dedicated server use?
27015 (connection) and 27016 (query) by default, TCP and UDP. The virtual ports 100 and 101 are not forwarded.
