Why Host Your Convoy Server on Flux?

A convoy hosted from someone's game closes when they stop driving, and the group waits for them to come online. A dedicated convoy server keeps the session open, for Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator, so your trucking group or virtual company drives whenever it wants.

Every plan has dedicated vCores and memory reserved for your server on a decentralized cloud of thousands of independent nodes across 50+ countries. Drivers find it by name in the game's convoy browser, the same way as any convoy.

The fiddly parts are handled. Upload the server packages your game exports and the convoy drives on your DLC map and mods. Set every rule, the password and the moderators from the browser, and go past eight drivers with the one line each driver needs. The server follows game updates by itself.

You still get an ordinary management panel: a file browser, a live terminal and backups. Plans start at $3.49/month, billing is pay-as-you-go with no contract, and nothing is locked in.

We don't sell player slots. The driver count on each plan is its room: every plan starts at SCS's own 8, and you raise it yourself in the Convoy Settings tab, up to 128. Above 8, each driver adds one line to their game's config.cfg, which the dashboard shows.

Convoy Server Features Explained

Your map, your DLC, your mods

A convoy server never downloads a DLC or a mod: two files your own game exports name them, server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat. Upload both and the convoy drives on your map, with the essential DLC every driver needs listed for you. Until then it runs the base map, which anyone with the game can join.

Past the eight-driver limit

SCS's convoy limit is eight. The server and every driver's game read one setting that raises it, g_max_convoy_size. Every plan starts at eight, so every driver sees your convoy; the 16 and 32-driver plans have the room to raise it, which you do in the panel when your group is ready, and the panel shows the exact line each driver adds to their config.cfg.

Rules, a password and moderators

Traffic, collision damage, the speed limiter, ghosting in service areas and menus, name tags and time zones are switches in the browser. The join password and the Steam logon token are kept on your server, never in the public app listing, and moderators by SteamID kick, ban and set the time and the rain from the game's chat.

Never left behind by an update

A driver on a newer game version cannot join an older server. This one checks Steam for a new build every 30 minutes and restarts onto it as soon as nobody is driving, or within the hour. A convoy keeps no world to save, so a restart only checks Steam and starts again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our hosting service

$3.49/month for 8 drivers (1 vCore, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage), $4.49/month with room for 16 drivers (1.5 vCores, 2.5 GB, 8 GB) and $4.99/month with room for 32 drivers (2 vCores, 4 GB, 10 GB). Every plan starts at SCS's own 8. American Truck Simulator costs the same. Billing is pay-as-you-go with no long-term contract.
Yes. SCS ships the same convoy server for both games; you pick Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator when you deploy, and every plan is available for both.
In the game, open Convoy and, in the session browser, search for your server's name, or type its session search ID from the dashboard into the search. They need the same game version as the server (it follows Steam) and every essential DLC its packages name.
Yes. The server cannot download them: your own game exports two files that name them (open the console and run export_server_packages), you upload both in the Server Packages tab, and the convoy drives on them. Every driver needs the essential DLC listed and the same mods. Until you upload a pair, the server runs the base map, which anyone with the game can join.
Yes, up to 128, but SCS's own limit is 8, so above it every driver adds one line to their game's config.cfg (g_max_convoy_size with the same number) before joining. The dashboard shows the exact line to copy. Every plan starts at 8, so nobody is left out by surprise: you raise it in the Convoy Settings tab when your group is ready, and the 16 and 32-driver plans have the room for it.
No. TruckersMP is a separate, volunteer-run multiplayer network on its own central servers, which nobody can rent or host. This is SCS's own Convoy mode, the multiplayer built into the game, on a server of your own.
