Built in: Sandbox and TTT
- Sandbox (+gamemode sandbox): building with props and tools. The sandbox limits in server.cfg keep it from lagging.
- Trouble in Terrorist Town (+gamemode terrortown): traitors among innocents. It plays on ttt_ maps, which come from the Workshop; many classic ones use Counter-Strike: Source textures, so prefer maps that pack their own content.
From the Workshop
| Gamemode | Workshop | Folder name |
|---|---|---|
| DarkRP | 248302805 | darkrp |
| Prop Hunt (Original) | 135509255 | prop_hunt |
| Murder, Jailbreak, Deathrun and others | Search the Workshop's Gamemode tag | As the author gives it |
- Add the gamemode to your Workshop collection, with the maps it plays on.
- Set the Gamemode field (+gamemode) to its folder name and the Map field to one of its maps.
- Restart: the server downloads the collection and starts the gamemode.
DarkRP: the database
DarkRP keeps money, jobs and doors in sv.db, a SQLite file in the garrysmod folder. On Flux that folder is synced to a standby node and included in backups, so the economy survives a move and can be restored.
Admins
Admin rights in game come from an admin addon such as ULX or SAM, added through the collection. Without one, the dashboard's RCON tab still kicks, bans, broadcasts and changes the map.
Frequently asked questions

Add DarkRP (Workshop 248302805) and a roleplay map to your collection, set the gamemode to darkrp and the map to that map, and restart.
How do I make a TTT server?
Set the gamemode to terrortown, which comes with the game, add a few ttt_ maps to your Workshop collection and set the map to one of them.
