Rust Wipe Schedule 2026: Force Wipe Dates & Times
Rust force wipes land on the first Thursday of every month at 19:00 UTC, when Facepunch Studios ships the mandatory monthly update. That update changes map generation, so every server must roll a fresh map — the old world is gone. Your blueprints, however, usually survive. Below are the exact 2026 and 2027 force-wipe dates, what a force wipe does and does not reset, and how to set your own cadence between them.

What time is the Rust force wipe?
The update goes live at 19:00 UTC. It is a rollout rather than an instant flip: Facepunch pushes the build and servers update as their hosts restart them, so populations typically come back over the following few hours. Plan for 19:00 UTC and expect some servers to lag behind.
| Timezone | Summer (DST) | Winter |
|---|---|---|
| UTC / GMT | 19:00 | 19:00 |
| London | 20:00 BST | 19:00 GMT |
| Central Europe | 21:00 CEST | 20:00 CET |
| US Eastern | 15:00 EDT | 14:00 EST |
| US Pacific | 12:00 PDT | 11:00 PST |
Note that this is the PC (Steam) schedule. Rust Console Edition is published by Double Eleven and runs its own cadence — its core servers wipe monthly on the last Thursday, which is why you will see both "first Thursday" and "last Thursday" quoted around the web.
Does the force wipe reset blueprints?
Usually not. This is the single most misunderstood part of the Rust wipe schedule, so it is worth being precise:
- Map wipe — regenerates the world and clears all bases, loot and deployed items. Learned blueprints are kept. This is what the monthly force wipe does.
- Blueprint (BP) wipe — additionally resets every player's learned blueprints, so everyone researches tech from scratch again.
A forced blueprint wipe only happens when Facepunch explicitly announces one, typically alongside a major content update or a tech-tree rebalance rather than on any fixed calendar. In between, server owners decide for themselves: many run a BP wipe on force-wipe day anyway to level the playing field, and they advertise it — "weekly map wipe, monthly BP wipe" — because it changes the experience dramatically.
Common wipe cycles
| Cycle | What resets | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly (force) | Map, BPs at the owner's discretion | Long progression, big builds |
| Biweekly | Map, sometimes BP | Balanced pace |
| Weekly | Map, BPs kept | Fast, fresh, popular |
| Custom | Owner's choice | Anything from daily to seasonal |
Force-wipe day is the busiest day of the Rust month — populations spike because everyone starts over at once. If you run a server, it is the day to have your slots ready and your update applied.
How to control the wipe schedule on your own server
When you run your own Rust server you set the cadence. A map wipe is done by deleting the server's map and save files (or changing the server.seed / server.worldsize) and restarting, which forces a fresh procedural map. A blueprint wipe additionally clears the stored blueprint data. Many admins automate this with a scheduled task or an Oxide/uMod plugin that wipes on a set day and time and announces it to players. On force-wipe day you must also apply Facepunch's update, or players on the new client cannot connect. On Rust on Flux you control your own wipes from the dashboard, and the monthly Facepunch update is handled for you.
Wipe schedule FAQ
When is the next Rust force wipe?
The first Thursday of the coming month, at 19:00 UTC. The countdown at the top of this page and the 2026/2027 tables above give the exact dates.
What time is the Rust wipe?
19:00 UTC. That is 20:00 BST in London during summer (19:00 GMT in winter), 15:00 EDT / 14:00 EST on the US East Coast, and 12:00 PDT / 11:00 PST on the West Coast. Servers finish updating over the following few hours.
How often do Rust servers wipe?
At minimum every month on the first-Thursday force wipe. Many community servers also wipe weekly or biweekly. Owners choose their own cadence between forced wipes.
Does the monthly force wipe wipe blueprints?
Not by itself — the forced monthly wipe resets the map, and blueprints are kept. Blueprints are only forcibly reset when Facepunch announces a specific BP wipe, usually with a major update. Individual server owners can still choose to wipe blueprints on their own server whenever they like.
What is the difference between a map wipe and a BP wipe?
A map wipe clears the world and bases but keeps learned blueprints. A BP wipe also resets blueprints so everyone re-researches from scratch.
Can I set my own wipe schedule?
Yes — on your own server you decide. You can wipe the map and/or blueprints on any cadence, commonly automated with a plugin, as long as you also take the monthly forced update.
Is the Rust Console Edition wipe schedule the same?
No. Console Edition is a separate build published by Double Eleven, and its core servers wipe monthly on the last Thursday rather than the first.
Run your own Rust server on Flux and control your wipe cycle from the dashboard — first month free.
