Rent a Satisfactory Dedicated Server

Satisfactory is built for co-op, and a factory shared by a team works best when it does not depend on one person hosting it. Renting a dedicated server is how most teams get that. Here is what it involves, what it costs, and when running your own is the better call.

Self-hosting Satisfactory is realistic if you have a spare machine with the memory for it and you do not mind being the one who restarts it. Most teams rent for a simpler reason: the factory should not depend on one person's PC being on.

What a rented Satisfactory server should include

  • Enough memory for where the factory is going, not just where it starts: the game suggests 16 GB for large saves.
  • Both ports open, including 8888, which older guides and setups miss.
  • The server claimed and its admin password in your hands.
  • Updates handled, so a game patch is a restart rather than a reinstall.
  • Your saves: uploadable, downloadable and backed up.

We do not sell player slots. Every plan allows up to 128 players; the plans are sized for about 4, 8 and 16 players, which is what their hardware carries comfortably. The 8 GB plan is the game's minimum, right for a small group early in the game; a big late-game factory wants the 16 GB plan.

What you manage from the dashboard

  • Overview: status, address, CPU and RAM, the players, tech tier and tick rate the game reports, and the admin password and one-click claim.
  • Admin: save the game now, restart the server, run console commands and change the server options through the game's API.
  • Saves: every world and its saves, newest first: load one to go back to it, download it, delete it, or upload your own .sav.
  • Mods: search ficsit.app and install a mod in one click, with the mod loader and its dependencies at versions for your game build; switch mods on or off and see which ones loaded.
  • Players: how many are on, and how your team joins.
  • Location and Hardware: move the server and resize it.
  • Deployment Settings: freeze game updates to hold the server on its current build, for example while your mods catch up with a patch.
  • Console: a terminal into the server beside its live log.
  • Files: a web file manager for saves, logs and mod files.
  • Backup: back the server up from the dashboard.

Deploying one

  1. Pick the plan for your team and the factory you are planning.
  2. Choose a region close to your players from 50+ countries.
  3. Deploy. The server is provisioned in about 30 seconds, and its first start downloads the server from Steam.
  4. Open the Overview tab once the server is up and choose Claim server now: it sets a strong admin password and shows it there.
  5. In the game, open the Server Manager, choose Add Server, and enter the address and port from the dashboard.

Bringing a factory you already have

Connect to the server in the Server Manager, log in as admin, and upload your save from your computer, then load it. Your factory carries on where you left it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a Satisfactory server?

On Flux, $4.99/month for 2 vCores and 8 GB, $8.49/month for 4 vCores and 12 GB, and $11.49/month for 6 vCores and 16 GB. Billing is monthly with no contract.

How many players can a rented Satisfactory server hold?

Up to 128 on every plan: no player cap from us. The plans are sized for about 4, 8 and 16 players, which is what their hardware carries comfortably, but the plan does not cap it.

Is it better to rent or self-host a Satisfactory server?

Self-hosting works if you have a spare machine with the memory for it and do not mind maintaining it. Renting is worth it when the factory should stay up whether or not anyone's PC is on, with the ports, claiming and updates handled.

Do I need to own Satisfactory to run a server?

Not on the server. The dedicated server is a free download. You need the game to play on it.

Can I run mods on a rented Satisfactory server?

Yes. The dashboard's Mods tab searches ficsit.app and installs a mod in one click, with the Satisfactory Mod Loader and every dependency at versions that run on your server's game build. Switch each mod on or off, remove it, and apply: the server restarts and reports which mods loaded. Your players install the same mods with the Satisfactory Mod Manager.

Can console players join?

This server is for the PC game: players on Steam and Epic can join it together.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Billing is pay-as-you-go with no contract, and you can cancel or change plan from the dashboard.
