7 Days to Die Dedicated Server Requirements

Three things decide what a 7 Days to Die server needs: whether consoles have to join, how many players you expect, and whether you run mods. Here is what each of our plans reserves, and why.

Tip:We do not sell player slots. On the PC plans the player limit is your own Max players setting in Server Settings; ~16 and ~32 are recommendations for that much memory. The Crossplay plan's 8 is The Fun Pimps' rule for console crossplay, not ours, and no host can raise it without consoles losing the server.

Crossplay: the rules set the size

A server PS5 and Xbox players can join is held to these rules:

  • At most 8 players.
  • A world size of at most 8192.
  • No mods: the server must be vanilla.
  • EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) always on.
  • The stable build only, never experimental.
  • Listed publicly, so consoles can find it.

With 8 players and a vanilla world, Crossplay 8GB reserves 8 GB of RAM and 3 vCores.

PC: players and mods set the size

Off console crossplay, the limits are yours, including the player limit, which you set in Server Settings. PC 12GB reserves 12 GB of RAM and 4 vCores, recommended for about 16 players, with mods supported. PC 16GB reserves 16 GB and 5 vCores, recommended for about 32 players, and is the headroom for big overhaul mods such as Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy.

The port

Players connect with the server's address and port 26900. On Flux the ports are opened and routed for you, and the address to use is shown in the dashboard.
