serverconfig.xml
The settings most servers change first:
- Server name: what players see.
- Max players: the player limit, yours to set on the PC plans. On the crossplay plan it stays at 8.
- Password: leave it empty for an open server, or set one that players enter to join.
- Difficulty.
- Day length: how long each in-game day lasts.
- Blood moon: the horde night settings.
- Loot: how much there is to find.
On Flux, the dashboard's Server Settings tab edits serverconfig.xml from the browser, with no file to download and upload again.
Settings the crossplay rules fix
On the Crossplay 8GB plan some things are not yours to change, because The Fun Pimps' console crossplay rules fix them: at most 8 players, a world size of at most 8192, no mods, EAC always on, the stable build, and a publicly listed server. Change one and consoles stop seeing the server.
Admin from the RCON tab
- Run admin commands.
- See who is online.
- Kick or ban a player.
- Broadcast a message to everyone in the world.
- Save the world now.
- Make yourself an admin.
Restarts, updates and backups
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Daily restart time | Chosen in your own timezone; players are warned in chat first |
| Game build | Stable or latest experimental on PC plans; always stable on Crossplay |
| Backups kept | 0, 2 or 5, taken before every start |
| Mods | The Mods tab, on the PC plans |
Every restart updates the game from Steam and backs up the world first, and every stop saves it.
