Best ARK: Survival Evolved Server Settings

Official servers run at 1x on everything. Most private servers raise the rates so a small tribe can see the late game without living in it. Here is what each setting does and where it lives.

Rates (GameUserSettings.ini)

SettingOfficialBoostedCasual
XPMultiplier1310
TamingSpeedMultiplier1310
HarvestAmountMultiplier1310
ItemStackSizeMultiplier115

Difficulty

OverrideOfficialDifficulty decides the wild creatures' levels: 5.0 means up to level 150, the official servers' setting; lower it for weaker wild dinos. DinoCountMultiplier and DinoDamageMultiplier change how many there are and how hard they hit.

Breeding (Game.ini)

SettingOfficialBreeding-friendlyWhat it does
MatingIntervalMultiplier10.2Lower is a shorter wait between matings
EggHatchSpeedMultiplier110Higher hatches faster
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier110Higher grows up faster
BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier10.2Lower means more imprint cuddles in the same time
Tip:Raise maturation and lower the cuddle interval together: a baby that grows up ten times faster with the official cuddle interval cannot be fully imprinted.

PvE, PvP and structures

  • serverPVE: players and their creatures cannot hurt each other.
  • PreventOfflinePvP: a tribe's base cannot be damaged while all its members are offline.
  • DisableStructureDecayPvE: abandoned PvE bases are never cleared away.
  • StructureDamageMultiplier: how much damage structures take.

On a Flux server

The Server Settings tab has every one of these, grouped, with the official value beside each and four presets (Official 1x, Boosted 3x, Casual 10x, Breeding-friendly) to start from. Saving writes both ini files and restarts the server; the world is saved first.

Frequently asked questions
