From the server list
- Choose Join Game from the main menu.
- Switch the session filter to Unofficial.
- Tick Show Player Servers, then search for the server's name.
- Pick it, enter the join password if it has one, and go.
Directly, on PC
Open the in-game console from the main menu and type open followed by the server's IP address and port, for example open 203.0.113.10:41873. On Flux the Players tab of the dashboard shows the server's current address and port, ready to copy; search by name instead if the server has since moved to another node.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox
Console players use the same list. They can only see a server started with crossplay on (-ServerPlatform=ALL), which is the default for servers deployed on Flux. A crossplay server should only run mods that support consoles.
If it does not appear
- A new server takes a while: the first start downloads about 12 GB and builds the world before it registers.
- Check that the search filter is Unofficial and that Show Player Servers is ticked.
- On a console, check that crossplay is on for the server.
- Search by the exact server name; very common names return many results.
Frequently asked questions
How do I join an ARK: Survival Ascended server by IP?
On PC, open the in-game console from the main menu and type open followed by the address and port. Consoles join from the unofficial server list.
Why can't I see my ARK server in the list?
Use the Unofficial filter with Show Player Servers ticked, and search by name. A brand new server can take up to half an hour on its first start. On a console, the server must have crossplay on.
Can PS5 and Xbox players join a PC-hosted ARK server?
Yes, when the server runs with crossplay on (-ServerPlatform=ALL). That is the default on Flux.
