The switch
Which platforms may join is the server's -ServerPlatform launch option. ALL admits PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox; PC keeps it to PC players.
| Value | Who can join |
|---|---|
| -ServerPlatform=ALL | PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox |
| -ServerPlatform=PC | PC only (Steam and Epic) |
On Flux it is the "Who can join" field in Deployment Settings, crossplay by default. Change it there and the server picks it up on its next start.
Mods on a crossplay server
ARK: Survival Ascended mods come from CurseForge, and many of them support consoles. On a crossplay server, run only mods that do: a console player cannot load a PC-only mod, so a server running one keeps them out.
How console players find it
In Join Game, with the Unofficial filter and Show Player Servers ticked, searching by the server's name. Consoles have no direct-connect console command, so a clear, distinctive server name matters more than on PC.
Frequently asked questions
Can I host an ARK: Survival Ascended server for PS5 players?
Yes. A PC-hosted dedicated server with -ServerPlatform=ALL is joinable from PlayStation 5 and Xbox. On Flux, crossplay is on by default.
Do mods work with crossplay in ARK: Survival Ascended?
Mods that support consoles do. A crossplay server should only run those, or console players cannot join.
Can Xbox and PS5 play on the same ARK server?
Yes, on a server with crossplay on, together with PC players on Steam and Epic.
