On Steam: the Game ID
- In Core Keeper, choose Join Game.
- Choose Join via Game ID.
- Paste the server's Game ID (on Flux, it is on the dashboard's Overview and in the Join & Access tab).
The Game ID goes through Steam's relay, so nothing has to be forwarded and it keeps working when the server moves. It is the only thing a Steam player needs: treat it like a password.
On Epic, the Microsoft Store or GOG: by IP
- In Core Keeper, choose Join Game, then Join via IP.
- Paste the join line into the IP field. It looks like 203.0.113.7;27015;;password, and the game splits it into the address, the port and the password by itself.
This is the server's own format: Pugstorm's GameInfo.txt prints the same line.
Which platforms can join
| Platform | Can join a dedicated server? | How |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | Yes | Join via Game ID |
| Epic Games Store | Yes | Join via IP |
| Microsoft Store / PC Game Pass | Yes | Join via IP |
| GOG | Yes | Join via IP |
| PlayStation, Xbox, Switch | No | Not among the platforms the dedicated server accepts |
Tip:A server owner can limit joining by IP to one store (Who Can Join by IP, in Deployment Settings on Flux), which switches cross-play off.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my Core Keeper server's Game ID?
In GameInfo.txt next to the server, or on Flux, on the dashboard. It stays the same across restarts, and you can change it if it got out.
Can console players join a Core Keeper dedicated server?
No. Dedicated servers take players from the PC stores: Steam, Epic, the Microsoft Store and GOG.
