Core Keeper Server Admins and Bans

Core Keeper has no console on a dedicated server. Admins act in game, and the server keeps who they are, and who is banned, in two small files.

The first admin

The first player to join a new server is made admin by the game. Admins can make other players admin from the player list in game.

What admins can do

  • Kick a player.
  • Ban a player: they cannot come back until the ban is lifted.
  • Make another player admin, or take it away.

The files

Admins.json in the save path lists admins by SteamID64 (17 digits starting 7656119). PlayerBans.json lists the bans. The server writes both back when it stops, so edit them only while it is stopped.

On Flux, the Admins & Bans tab does it for you: add an admin by SteamID64, by Steam profile link or from the players who have played, remove one, or lift a ban, and the server restarts with the change.

How do I unban someone on a Core Keeper server?

Remove them from PlayerBans.json while the server is stopped, or on Flux, press Lift Ban in the Admins & Bans tab.
