How to Move Your Factorio Save to a Server

A Factorio save is one .zip file, and a server runs any save the same version can load. Moving a factory online takes a few minutes.

Find the save

  • Windows: %appdata%\Factorio\saves
  • Linux: ~/.factorio/saves
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/factorio/saves

Upload it

  1. Save the game one last time and quit.
  2. On Flux, open the server's Saves tab and press Upload a save.
  3. Press Load beside it. The server saves the map it is running, then restarts into yours.
Tip:Match the server's Space Age setting to the save. A base-game save loads with Space Age on and is migrated to the expansion; a save that used the expansion loads with it off only by losing everything the expansion added, because Factorio drops what belongs to a mod it no longer loads.

Mods

A save made with mods needs the same mods on the server. Add them in the Mods tab before you load it; the mods guide has the details.

Frequently asked questions

Which save does the server load?

The newest one in its saves folder, by the time it was written; the Saves tab marks it. After a restart it carries on from the newest autosave of that map. Load in the Saves tab switches to any other save.

Can I go back to single-player?

Yes. Download the newest save from the Saves tab and load it in your own game.
