The Unturned Game Server Login Token

An Unturned server without a login token logs into Steam anonymously, and an anonymous server is hidden from the Internet list and cannot be joined over the Internet. The token is free and takes a minute.

Make a token

  1. Open steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers, logged into your Steam account.
  2. App ID: 304930 (Unturned). Memo: anything that reminds you which server it is for.
  3. Create, and copy the 32-character token.

The page lists Steam's own requirements for the account that creates tokens, if yours does not meet them yet.

Give it to the server

The GSLT line in Commands.dat, or Login_Token in Config.txt. On Flux, paste it into Steam Game Server Login Token in Deployment Settings.

What it changes

  • The server is listed in the Internet server list.
  • Players can join over the Internet by address.
  • The Server Code stays the same across restarts.
  • Steam can carry the server's favourites over if its address changes.

A token Steam refuses

A mistyped, deleted or expired token makes Steam refuse the login, and a plain Unturned server then stops retrying and never loads its map. Our image watches for that refusal, starts the server without the token so it still runs, and says so in the log until a new token is set.
