How to Join a Friend's V Rising Server

There are two ways into a V Rising dedicated server: find it in the in-game server list, or connect straight to its address.

From the server list

Search the in-game list for the server's name. Stunlock notes the game looks for servers on the Epic Online Services list by default, so a server needs ListOnEOS (and ListOnSteam for Steam's list) turned on in ServerHostSettings.json to appear.

By direct connect

Connect directly to the server's address and game port. Direct connect works even when the server is not listed.

Passworded servers

Tip:The Docker image's documentation notes that joining a passworded server through Steam does not work, so use the in-game server list instead.

Server not showing up?

  • Check that ListOnEOS and ListOnSteam are on in ServerHostSettings.json.
  • Give a new server time: the first launch can take up to ten minutes.
  • A server exposed on a different outside port from the one it binds is invisible in the list; direct connect still works.
  • PC and PlayStation 5 servers are separate, with no crossplay: a PC server does not appear on PS5.
