V Rising Dedicated Server Requirements

V Rising's dedicated server is a Windows program, so the requirements depend partly on where it runs. Below are the figures the Flux marketplace plans are built on, and the ports the server needs.

Hardware by plan

Tip:The player figures are sizing guidance for each plan's CPU and memory, not a limit we enforce. How many players can join is the server's own MaxConnectedUsers setting.

Ports

  • One UDP port for game traffic (9876 on the marketplace app).
  • One UDP port for the Steam server list (9877 on the marketplace app).
  • Optionally, one TCP port for RCON if you enable it.

Stunlock's own instructions: to appear in the server list both the game port and the query port must be reachable; for direct connect alone, the game port is enough.

Running on Linux

There is no Linux build of the V Rising server. Linux hosts, Flux included, run the Windows server under Wine inside a container, which works well but adds to the start time.

Frequently asked questions

How much RAM does a V Rising server need?

About 8 GB for a clan of around ten, 10 GB for around twenty and 12 GB for around thirty; larger, busier worlds want the bigger plans. Mods need extra memory once, on the first start after installing them or after a game update, and every plan has enough for it.

What ports does a V Rising server use?

A UDP game port and a UDP query port for the Steam server list (9876 and 9877 on the Flux marketplace app), plus an optional TCP port for RCON.

Is there a Linux V Rising server?

No official one. Linux servers run the Windows server under Wine.
