Formatting codes
The name and description accept BeamNG's formatting codes: a caret and a character, such as ^l for bold, ^o for italic, ^0 to ^f for colours and ^r to go back to normal.
Where each one lives on Flux
- Deployment Settings: the AuthKey (a secret, kept in the encrypted spec), and the values the server first starts with: name, map, public or private, players, cars, guests, description, tags.
- Server Settings: name, description, tags, private, players, cars, guests, chat logging, debug and the information packet, as a form. The image writes ServerConfig.toml from it before every start.
- The Maps tab: the map, checked against your mods before the server is told to load it.
Tip:A value changed in Server Settings is not undone by a restart. A value in Deployment Settings lands again only when you change it there. Max Players starts at your plan's figure and you can raise it yourself.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make my BeamMP server private?
Set Private = true in ServerConfig.toml; on Flux, turn on Private Server in Server Settings. Players then join with Direct Connect.
How do I let players spawn more cars?
Raise MaxCars. Every car is synced to every player, so more cars means more traffic for everyone.
Why are my ServerConfig.toml edits lost?
The server rewrites the file when it starts, and environment variables win over it. On Flux the image writes it from the panel's settings: use the Server Settings tab instead.
