Worlds on a tModLoader Server

A server keeps as many worlds as you like and plays one. Each is two files: the Terraria world (.wld) and tModLoader's half (.twld), which holds everything mods added.

Making a world

ChoiceValues
SizeSmall (4200 × 1200), Medium (6400 × 1800), Large (8400 × 2400)
DifficultyClassic, Expert, Master, Journey
SeedAny text, or a secret seed

All three are fixed when the world is made. A server cannot choose the world's evil (Corruption or Crimson): it is random. To pick it, create the world in your game and upload it.

Secret seeds

  • for the worthy: the hardest world
  • not the bees: jungle and hives everywhere
  • drunk world: both evils and a strange layout
  • dont dig up: an upside-down world
  • no traps, the constant, celebrationmk10
  • get fixed boi: every secret seed at once

Switching and backups

In the Worlds tab: Play switches the server to another world (the current one is saved and kept). The server saves every 10 minutes and on every restart, and backs up every world, the mods' configs, the uploaded mods and its settings every 6 hours and when it starts. Restore puts a backup back (what was there is backed up first).

Frequently asked questions

Can a tModLoader server use a secret seed?

Yes: type it as the seed when the world is made (for the worthy, not the bees, get fixed boi...).

What is a .twld file?

tModLoader's half of a world: the tiles, items and data mods added. Keep it with the .wld.
