Enhanced mods, not Legacy ones
Mods for Enhanced are built with the refreshed mod kit, which tags them "Enhanced" on the Workshop; mods for the old game are tagged "Legacy". Many authors uploaded their Enhanced version as a new item with a new ID. A Legacy mod does not load on an Enhanced server and can stop it from starting, so check the tag before you add one.
How a server loads mods
- Download each mod on the server: SteamCMD, +login anonymous +workshop_download_item 440900 <id> (it works without a Steam account).
- Make each mod reachable from ConanSandbox/Mods (copy it there, or link its Workshop folder by its ID).
- List each mod's .pak in ConanSandbox/Mods/modlist.txt, one per line: *<id>/<file>.pak. Do not rename the .pak files.
- Restart. The server loads the list top first, so a mod lower down wins where two change the same thing.
Enhanced mods may carry a Linux server part (a -LinuxServer.pak beside the main one); the server unpacks it itself, so only the main .pak goes in modlist.txt.
What players need
Players need the same mods: they subscribe to them on the Workshop, and the game asks for any that are missing when they join. Share your list so they can subscribe before the first session.
Frequently asked questions
Do old Conan Exiles mods work on Enhanced?
No. Enhanced loads only mods rebuilt with its mod kit, tagged "Enhanced" on the Workshop. Look for the author's Enhanced version.
Does mod order matter?
Yes. modlist.txt is loaded top first; where two mods change the same thing, the one lower down wins. Overhauls usually go first and small tweaks after them.
