CumulusVPN Arrives on the App Store and Google Play
Fluxers! CumulusVPN is now on the App Store and Google Play. The decentralized VPN that runs entirely on Flux is a tap away on iPhone and Android, alongside the desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux.
A VPN with no account at all
Most VPNs ask you to trust them with exactly the thing a VPN is meant to protect: who you are. CumulusVPN starts from the other end. There is no account, no email, no logs and nothing stored. Your identity is a key generated on your own device, and nobody else ever sees it.
The gateways that carry your traffic are not one company’s servers. They are applications running on independent Flux nodes in dozens of countries, and every gateway verifies payments for itself by reading the Flux blockchain. There is no central authority in the middle — if the company behind the apps vanished tomorrow, the deployed gateways would keep running.
Free, or full speed for $0.99
CumulusVPN has a free tier that is genuinely usable, funded by subscribers and capped so it cannot be abused. Premium unlocks full speed for $0.99 a month, paid in FLUX straight from any FLUX wallet, by card, or through the App Store and Google Play. Premium follows you rather than a device, and you can prepay months.
New in the mobile apps
The store releases arrive with a run of improvements:
- Choose your DNS. Pick Cloudflare, Quad9, AdGuard DNS — which blocks ads and trackers — or Cloudflare for Families, right in Settings.
- Encrypted DNS in the gateways. The gateways answer your lookups themselves and send them on encrypted, so your DNS queries are protected beyond the tunnel too.
- Split tunnelling that keeps DNS private. Even with apps excluded from the tunnel, your resolvers stay inside it.
- A recovery key you can back up. Your identity survives an uninstall, and you can back up and restore your recovery key on every platform.
- Survives a network change. Walk from Wi-Fi to mobile data and the tunnel recovers on its own.
- Clearer plans. A premium card shows the days left on your plan, and an annual plan shows exactly how much it saves.
Built for networks that block VPNs
Beyond plain WireGuard, the gateways support AmneziaWG traffic obfuscation, WireGuard over TLS, multi-hop routing and a stealth transport on port 443, falling back between them automatically. That is what keeps CumulusVPN working on networks that try to block ordinary VPNs.
Also in Zelcore
CumulusVPN now appears among the Flux network apps inside Zelcore. On mobile it takes you straight to the App Store or Google Play listing; on desktop it opens the CumulusVPN website.
