What the server needs
| Requirement | |
|---|---|
| Memory | About 1.5 GB with nobody on, more with players, their bases and a long save. 4 GB is a comfortable start for a small group, 8 GB for eight players with big bases |
| CPU | The world runs mostly on one thread, and an empty server uses nearly two cores in all (the game thread and Wine's, measured). Three cores is the floor, five leaves room for eight players |
| Disk | About 1.8 GB for the server, about 1 GB more for the Wine prefix on Linux, plus the saves |
| Network | UDP 8766, 27015 and 27016. Players need the same game version as the server |
| Operating system | Windows, or Linux under Wine with a virtual display |
| Players | Max Players runs from 2 to 100 (the game's own limits); more players need more CPU and memory |
What we run it on
| Plan | CPU | RAM | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| 6 Players | 4 vCores | 6 GB | 15 GB SSD | $7.99/mo |
| 8 Players | 5 vCores | 8 GB | 15 GB SSD | $9.49/mo |
Tip:The plans start Max Players at 4, 6 and 8 as a guide to the hardware. You can raise Max Players on any of them in the Server Settings tab; a bigger group needs more CPU and memory, which you can add from Hardware.
