A Thousand Game Servers, and Four New Worlds

Fluxers! Two milestones landed on the network at once this month. Flux now hosts more than 2,000 applications — 2,056 at the latest count — and more than 1,000 of them are game servers.

That is 1,059 game servers, over half of everything running on Flux. On 2 October, at the census in Flux in Numbers, the figure was 865. And the hub keeps growing: four more games have joined since Fifteen Games, One Hub, bringing it to nineteen.

Four new worlds

  • Factorio — from $2.49 a month. Build the factory together, and let it keep growing while everyone is offline.
  • Unturned — from $4.49 a month. Survival with friends, on a server that is always there when your group logs in.
  • Garry’s Mod — from $4.99 a month. The ultimate sandbox, with your own server for your own game modes.
  • Arma Reforger — from $7.49 a month. Large-scale military sandbox on a server sized for it.

Where the thousand come from

The biggest single story is still RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Since its 1.0 release it has grown to 652 servers on Flux — up from 484 at the start of the month, and more than every other game on the hub put together.

Behind it come Palworld with 156 servers and Valheim with 151 — Valheim up from 124 at the start of the month — followed by Minecraft, Enshrouded and Satisfactory. And the newest titles are already finding their players: Arma Reforger, Factorio and Garry’s Mod servers were running within days of joining.

Why players pick Flux

Choice of location. Latency is the whole experience in a multiplayer game. Flux runs on more than 7,000 independently operated nodes, so you can put your server close to where your group actually plays.

Worlds that survive a node going away. Games such as Dragonwilds, ARK and Hytale keep your world synced to a standby node, ready to take over — the mechanism we described in One Live, One Standing By.

Private by default. The hub deploys every server privately, so your passwords and settings are encrypted and never appear on chain.

Prices you can see. Every game page shows its starting price up front, from Terraria at $1.49 a month to the largest servers for ARK and FiveM.
