Hardware
- Disk: about 32 GB for the server files (30 GB of them are maps and content), plus workshop items and room for updates. Plan for 40 GB or more.
- RAM: an empty server on a default map used 465 MB here, 548 MB after loading five maps, a workshop map included. A full squad, long matches and mutators take more: 3 to 4 GB is comfortable, 5 GB or more with heavy workshop content.
- CPU: the game thread wants one fast core; the rest is light. An empty server used 1 to 2 % of a core. Two cores leave room for the operating system and the panel.
- Network: modest. Killing Floor 2 sends little per player; latency to your players matters more than bandwidth.
Ports
| Option | Default | Protocol | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| -Port (game) | 7777 | UDP | Game traffic: what players join on |
| -QueryPort | 27015 | UDP | Steam's server query: the server list, Steam favourites and A2S |
| Web admin | 8080 | TCP | The game's browser admin (KFWeb.ini). Optional to open; on Flux it stays inside the container |
The server binds exactly the ports it is given, so the numbers you publish and the ones you start it with must be the same. Nothing else is opened.
Players
Killing Floor 2 itself caps a co-op server at 6 players and Versus Survival at 12: the game lowers any higher Max Players to its limit.
